This is what Ray Barretto would have sounded like if he grew up on Hip-Hop!
El Bles is a third-generation musician from Puerto Rico who relocated to the U.S. at 18 years old to pursue his musical career. Inspired at a early age by legends of Latin Music such as Ismael Rivera, Eddie Palmieri, and Ray Barretto, Bles' latin-influenced, analog, heavy-rhythmic vision to his production is also a result of being raised by a family of musicians - his father a pianist and a violin guru who has an extensive catalogue in early latin salsa music, his mother was a singer and currently a music teacher of over 25 years. He ultimately credits his grandparents, who together form a guitar/singing duo that performed at churches worldwide to be his main musical influence.
A percussionist at heart, El Bles aka El Bendecido released his debut album "BlesTruMentals" in 2009 and has been keeping busy since. He most recently sizzled the summer with his single "La Gente Pide" which made ways into the Florida radio waves, where he resides. El Bles is currently working on as yet untitled, follow up to Blestrumentals and an EP with his band, LGP.
